Keyword : 親子丼 おやこどん bowl of rice topped with boiled chicken and eggs

“Don” is a Japanese dish of rice that can have a variety of toppings. Oyako-don’s topping is chicken simmered in sauce (soy sauce, sugar, etc.), with egg folded in at the end.
As it has chicken and egg in it, the dish is called “Oyako-don” (parent and child-don). It’s often sold at soba or udon noodle bars. It’s around 700 yen.
